Frequently Asked Questions

These are the list of frequently asked questions that our customers often ask. I hope that it will be useful to you.

Drum Lessons

1) What will you cover during the drum lessons?

Initially the focus will be on developing good technique and habits behind the kit while learning basic beats, rudiments and how to read drumset notation.

As the student progresses more complicated beats and styles will be learnt along with progressive fills and solo ideas. Students will also learn how it feels to be a drummer in a band by playing along with tailor made backing tracks and by learning to play popular songs.

2) What is the recommended length for drum lessons?

We recommend one hour per lesson for drum lessons. Half an hour is possible for children as they have short attention spans.

3) How quickly will I learn to play the drums?

That depends on you. An average student who attends drum lessons once a week for 1 hour and practices regularly will be able to play basic rock/ pop in around 3 months. After a year of drum lessons most students will be able to play competently with a band in a rock/pop/blues setting.

To learn further styles such as jazz and latin will require more time.

4) What happens if I cannot make it on one day?

If you need to postpone a lesson, please inform the teacher at least one day in advance. Our teachers are in high demand and this will help them arrange their schedule.

The lesson charges are not charged if it is postponed or cancelled at least one day in advance.

5) What if I go for a short holiday?

Likewise, inform the teacher at least one day in advance. The lessons will continue after the holiday.
